Cameroon Customs Seizes Counterfeit Lions Jerseys in Douala

Douala, September 2, 2025 — Cameroon’s customs services have intercepted a large shipment of counterfeit Indomitable Lions jerseys in Douala, just days before the national team faces Eswatini in a World Cup qualifier.
According to customs authorities, the seizure involved five bales containing 610 jersey-and-short sets, 760 tracksuits, and 740 polo shirts, all bearing the mark of Fourteen, the new official kit supplier of the national team. The operation took place as goods were being unloaded from a truck within the city limits of Douala, as part of the ongoing “Halcomi 3” campaign against illicit trade.
This crackdown comes on the eve of Cameroon’s clash with Eswatini on September 4 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé, a crucial match in the 7th round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Cameroon currently sits second in Group D, one point behind Cape Verde, whom they will face in Praia on September 9. Eswatini is bottom of the group with just two points.
It is not the first time counterfeit products linked to the Lions have been seized. On July 13, customs officers in Guider, in the North Region, confiscated 49 Fourteen jerseys. Earlier operations in May and April also uncovered hundreds of fake kits in the South-West and North regions.
These repeated seizures follow the April 2, 2025 partnership agreement between the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot) and the customs administration, aimed at eradicating counterfeit jerseys and ensuring the safe distribution of official team products.
